I would humbly suggest that you engage in an in depth discussion over
the advantages and shortcomings
of the MacOS X design of the before you go ahead and attempt to create
a clone. The implementation
of such a feature would be non-trivial and a direct copy, if possible,
may not be an ideal choice.

Then I'd be interested in implementing it and
providing patches, if they would be accepted. However
I don't want to waste my time impelmenting it only to
have it denied. Who should i talk to about such an
issue? (i.e. who's the lead developer(s) of nautilus).

There are no plans to implement a column view in

Can we expect a mac os x like column view
(http://www.otierney.net/images/columnview.pdf) in
the
gnome 2.6 release of nautilus? If not, i'd like to
request this feature. It's been long missing in
nautilus. KDE has a poor implementation, so it
would
be nice if nautilus could make a non-halfassed
version
like konquerors.
