Yes, it is probably possible. However, as I have been told the proper
way it to handle this through gnome-vfs and fix the issue once and for
all. However, there is a problem with URIs I believe (please correct
me) in the archive handling that gnome-vfs does.
In addition, it is usually the maintainers and programmers involved in
the individual project (ie the File Roller folks) who make the views
that interact with Nautilus. That sounded confusing so I will put it
this way. The galeon folks make the galeon2-view which is really nice
if you can get Galeon2 going and the Gstreamer folks make the gstreamer
view which is also nice.
The File-Roller folks I have heard have no real desire at this time to
make a view for Nautilus which is a shame really. It would be not only
be a nice workaround but I have a feeling a small percentage of users
would prefer a well built File-Roller view to the gnome-vfs browsing of
archives.
