Agreed. In the end, we cannot compete with Windows for user
friendliness (though we can get 80 per cent of the way there), but we
can beat the living crap out of them for security and stability.
Let's not lose the advantage we have.
On the contrary, it might be nice to set up Nautilus in beginner mode
to remove '.' from the path and to pop up a warning dialog before
executing SUID programs, a warning that can be disabled on a
program-by-program basis ("Don't warn me again for this program").
