I'm going to attach an additional error which appears after all the GConf
errors:
** WARNING **: GConf error:
Configuration server couldn't be contacted:
Adding client to server's list failed, CORBA error:
IDL:CORBA/BAD_OPERATION:1.0
Gdk-WARNING **: Missing charsets in FontSet creation
Gdk-WARNING **: ISO8859-1
Segmentation fault
Could the font issue be preventing startup?
BTW: I counted the number of GConf errors I get:
run-nautilus 2>&1 | grep "GConf error" | wc -l
243
wow....
Thanks,
Simon

When starting Nautilus, I get a zillion of these on the console (and one in
a dialog box):
** WARNING **: GConf error:
Configuration server couldn't be contacted:
Adding client to server's list failed, CORBA error:
IDL:CORBA/BAD_OPERATION:1.0
Nautilus never appears.
I've re-installed my package of GConf, and my ORBit package, just in case.
Any other suggestions on getting this running?
Simon
