There is two things, that are very different :

- Working for the software, and wanting to make the software better.
- Wanting credits if you deserve it.

Some people do care about the second issue, some people do not...
This is because it's *very* related to the person psychological 
background...

Now this discussion is going nowhere, and we should probably stop it.
