Re: [Nautilus-list] help: my nautilus is crashing

Alex and Darin,
The rpms from gnomehide worked.
I did have to upgrade gnome-vfs, eel, librsvg and a couple of other libs.

It is really encouraging to see that positive development of the project has continued post-Eazel. Keep up the great work.

Thank you very much for the assistance.

Try using the nautilus in hp's gnomehide. They are rpms for redhat 7.2. You'll have to upgrate you gnome-vfs and eel most likely. They are also
in gnomehide.

Greetings.

Enclosed you will find a backtrace and some other information about a crashing nautilus. It worked fine for me for a couple of months, then recently started crashing amlost immediately after starting. I used it just long enough to really appreciate the application.

Thank you very much for any insight you can offer.

Here is a bit of info about my system:
Red Hat 7.2 (Enigma)

$ uname -a
Linux marmot.se.insighome.com 2.4.7-10 #1 Thu Sep 6 17:27:27 EDT 2001 i686 unknown

I'm running GNOME and sawfish.

With the help of the very gracious Evil-Monk on the #nautilus IRC channel I did some diagnostics and attempts to fix.

1. Ran oaf-slay (a lot).
2. Erased the nautilus installation. (rpm -e --nodeps --allmatches nautilus)
3. did a fresh install (rpm -Uvh --nodeps nautilus-1.0.4-43.i386.rpm)

$ nautilus --version
Gnome nautilus 1.0.4

Here is the output of attempting to run from the command line:

$ nautilus
Message: Successfully registered `OAFIID:nautilus_factory:bd1e1862-92d7-4391-963e-37583f0daef3'
Message: Successfully registered `OAFIID:Bonobo_Moniker_std_Factory'

And finally here is the backtrace:
