Indeed. The release was a mistake, I believe. Hopefully we can get it
all straightened out in a couple of weeks...

We're just doing a 'make dist' in the Red Hat branch, and applying a few
local patches to 'redhatify' it. You guys probably want to do something
similar, rather then try to do a merge. We just found the branch to be
a lot easier than trying to juggle a whole bunch of patches. If you're
having specific problems with that branch, you should ask on this
list. (-:
