I think we can improve this so the check is only done when Nautilus is not
already running. Looking at natuilus_application_startup, it seems to be
doing way too much in the "found existing Nautilus" case. Why the
preference monitoring in that case? Why the start_desktop call? Why the
init_session call? I think all of those should be moved into
finish_startup, but we'll have to do some testing if we do that,
especially of the session stuff.
