Re: [Nautilus-list] Eazel Services as backup?

However, the service preview in its current state falls far short of Eazel's
ultimate goal of offering a complete remote system management service. According
to Tribble, "Someday, we want the user to be able to say, 'I want my whole
system backed up all the time to offsite fireproof storage."

Does this imply data or also being able to restore the entire system say if a
harddrive crashed or whatever? If so...how about helping out with GPL mondo.
This project has pretty much been stagnate and I don't even know what to put up
for new content on the webpage. http://www.microwerks.net/~hugo/
It's supposed to be like Drive Image. Create's an .iso and can restore a system
from a complete disaster.

So perhaps we could backup our system and upload it to eazel (excluding data
like /home/user) and it could be broken into gzipped 5MB or 10MB files. Then to
restore the system it could be done with a recovery bootable cdrom or a floppy
to download the files from eazel services. Just a wacko idea.

  | That's actually our long term goal for backup and online storage.

  | We hope to not only use emblems for tagging for backup, but also for
  | encrypting, and a wide variety of other action items.
