If you're using hourly builds, please note that the new Preview Release
2 installer (from www.eazel.com) will not replace a number of the hourly
EazelSourceSnapshot RPMs with the PR2 builds, nor will you receive an
error message.
This problem should only occur if you've used nightly builds from within
the past week or two.
As a result, you may encounter a number of bugs that have already been
fixed. So, if you plan to submit bug reports, it's especially important
to have a correct installation!
To solve this problem, switch to root and...
1. Remove all RPMs that start with "nautilus" from your RPM
database:
rpm -e `rpm -qa | grep nautilus` --nodeps
2. Remove all RPMs that contain the text string
"EazelSourceSnapshot":
rpm -e `rpm -qa | grep EazelSourceSnapshot` --nodeps
3. Relaunch the eazel-installer.
You should now have a complete installation.
----
rslomkow wrote a script which will automatically prepare such systems
for the Eazel Installer --- it's a brute force wrapper of the installer
that forcibly removes all Eazel packages off your system.
However, it's not yet posted, since nobody has tested it. ;) Will do
tomorrow. If you'd like to volunteer and don't mind risk of system
damage, e-mail rslomkow eazel com and eli eazel com ;) More information
in bugzilla #4499.
P.S. My apologies for the delay in getting this message out. Everyone
who would have thought to mention it was in a heap on the floor after
the final PR2 death march, and then Renze pointed this out on #nautilus
after we finally woke up again... ;)
