[Nautilus-list] generic icons and network woes

I have just successfully built Nautilus and its dependencies (20000810
CVS snapshots). Unfortunately, all icons are generic. I get a huge
number of asserts, some from Nautilus, many from gdk-pixbuf, a few from
Nautilus. Here are some examples:

** WARNING **: couldnt load apps

** WARNING **: couldnt load apps

** CRITICAL **: file gdk-pixbuf.c: line 327 (gdk_pixbuf_get_height):
assertion `pixbuf != NULL' failed.

** CRITICAL **: file gdk-pixbuf.c: line 311 (gdk_pixbuf_get_width):
assertion `pixbuf != NULL' failed.

Bonobo-CRITICAL **: file bonobo-ui-handler.c: line 1341
(bonobo_ui_handler_pixmap_copy_data): assertion `pixmap_info != NULL'
failed.

GnomeUI-CRITICAL **: file gnome-pixmap.c: line 137
(gnome_pixmap_new_from_file): assertion `filename != NULL' failed.

Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkwidget.c: line 1424 (gtk_widget_show):
assertion `widget != NULL' failed.

Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkcontainer.c: line 713 (gtk_container_add):
assertion `widget != NULL' failed.

As for networking, attempts to use http or ftp yield the following:

nautilus: error in loading shared libraries:
/usr/lib/vfs/modules/libhttp.so: undefined symbol:
gnome_vfs_inet_connection_create
nautilus: error in loading shared libraries:
/usr/lib/vfs/modules/libhttp.so: undefined symbol:
gnome_vfs_inet_connection_create
nautilus: error in loading shared libraries:
/usr/lib/vfs/modules/libftp.so: undefined symbol:
gnome_vfs_inet_connection_create

Finally, it is not possible to exit Nautilus cleanly if you've done
anything in it, as close all windows will not end nautilus' process. If
you haven't done anything, it will exit.

Any help is much appreciated.

Sincerely,
Dara Hazeghi
