The change that's most important to know about is that
the command line option to Nautilus, --manage-desktop,
has been renamed --start-desktop.
There are two new command line options: --stop-desktop
and --quit.
I recently removed the Exit item from the file menu.
So, the only way to quit nautilus while it's managing
the desktop is via the command line:
nautilus --quit
If nautilus is not managing the desktop you can make
it quit by closing all the windows. Note: there's a new
"Close All Windows" item in the File menu.
Using the following command lines you can turn on/off
the desktop of the currently running nautilus shell:
nautilus --start-desktop
nautilus --stop-desktop
And, of course, using --start-desktop when intially
starting Nautilus tells it to create the desktop - just
like --manage-desktop did.
