Announcin MuineTagger Beta 2Same as the first, but with these exciting new features:
- Better memory management (I actually free stuff now.)
- Support for files with question marks in their names!
- Automatic refreshing of data in muine!!! (Requires patch)
All you need do is:
- Download http://www.public.asu.edu/~bnickel/MuineTagger/MuineTagger-0.0.99.tar.bz2
- Untar the file.
- Apply the two patches provided to the Muine 0.8.3+ source.
- Recompile muine.
- Go into MuineTagger-0.0.99 and run ./compile.sh
Same warnings as before.
And now I'm figuring out how to make unicode characters work right.

MuineTagger's design is built with Muine in mind, as it supports every
tag Muine does, and it preserves the concepts of songs and albums.
It needs TagLib (latest), and it isn't perfect, because:
- It doesn't support your M4A files.
- I think it leaks memory.
- Muine doesn't URL encode it's URL's, and I fail to load songs
with question marks in the name (I should be able to hack my way out of
this but I'm hoping for a fix).
- I don't think there's a way to make muine reload metadata, so changes don't show up 'til you reload muine.
- There are probably a bunch of things I need to mess with.
Enjoy,
Brian
