[mlview-list] Some news from the mlview project

Hello dears xml lovers.

I'm writing to the list on behalf of the mlview developpers to inform
you that the project mlview is not dead :).
We are concient that there is a lack of communication on the project,
and we want to solve this issue.

We have a lot of good news to give you.

=Future release=
Dodji and Nicolas (the main developpers) are actively coding the next
0.7/0.8 release :
A lot of big changes will appear :
 - Interface cleanup
 - Validation window reworking
 - Edition with keybindings (that things rocks a lot)
 - the Undo/Redo feature
 - Other things that must be discussed

A first developpement should be released during september

=New developpement tool=
The developpers decided to switch to gnu arch, for the day to day
developpement instead of CVS.
To test mlview, you need to use tla (however Dodji synchronizes the CVS
regularly).
Install tla with your beloved package manager (apt, emerge, rpmi, ...)
and read the good tutorial at http://regexps.srparish.net/tutorial-
tla/arch.html (there is a french translation at
http://www.flibuste.net/libre/tlafr/ )

then make

tla register-archive http://www.gnome.org/~dodji/arch/2004/xml-style
cd ~/Code/
tla get -A dodji gnome org--xml-style-2004/mlview--mainline--0.7

now you get the source, compile mlview, and play with it.

=Contribute to the project=
If you want to contribute to mlview, you can !!
- Coders, there a list of bugs to correct, you can find them at
http://makeashorterlink.com/?W2D524329 .
- Testers, your feedback will be greatly appreciated, specially for the
new features.
- Writers, you can write some docs (some tutorials how to use the new
keybindings, ...)
- Users, try to make mlview crash and explain how you did at
http://bugs.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=mlview .

So, I hope you'll try the developpement version, and you'll like it as
much as I like it.

Regards,
