libbfd is part of the binutils distribution. 

>From your message it appears that you are running some version of
Redhat. Check to see if the binutils RPM is installed:

	rpm -qa | grep binutils

If not:

	download / install the RPM


If so:

	rpm -ql binutils | grep libbfd

to see where the library is installed.
