Details:
Hi folks,
Using RHEL 4.2 (centos 4.2) with mc-4.6.1-0.8.1 release i found that when
navigating througth the contents of a tar.bz2 file, if you select one of the
folders to uncompress -F5/Copy- sometimes certain files are not extracted
with the correct filemane extension, iow:
a) If navigating within newlib-1.12.0.tar.bz2 file, extracting the whole
folder leads '/newlib/libc/sys/linux/include/netinet/ip_mroute.h' file to be
extracted as '/newlib/libc/sys/linux/include/netinet/ip_mroute.'
By the other hand, $diff command against this two text files shows no
differences unless the filename extension, in that case, 'h'.
b) Same as above, but in this case with the binary file
'/newlib/libc/iconv/ccs/binary/cns11643_plane14.cct', which becomes
'/newlib/libc/iconv/ccs/binary/cns11643_plane14.cc', iow without the last
't'.
$file command shows that its a DB3 file and both of them are identicall
except for their filename extension.
Hope it helps,
J.J.
