The MC's internal viewer enters probably infinite cycle while paging
binary files or files containing some 8-bit characters. It opens the Seach
dialog with the characters "1;2c" or something like that. Then you press
Escape, the dialog disappears and reappears in a moment with the same
characters. You can hold the Escape key pressed, and it will blink
infinitely.
OS Version: SUSE Linux 9.3
MC Version:
$ LANGUAGE=en_US mc -V
GNU Midnight Commander 4.6.1-pre3
Virtual File System: tarfs, extfs, cpiofs, ftpfs, fish, undelfs
With builtin Editor
Using system-installed S-Lang library with terminfo database
With subshell support as default
With support for background operations
With mouse support on xterm and Linux console
With support for X11 events
With internationalization support
With multiple codepages support
Note that I did not observe this bug in the previous versions of MC (like
4.6.0).
Best regards,
Michael Lashkevich
