Details:
i once posted this:
it happens quite often that i accidentally delete items from the hotlist -
take the wrong angle when blindly moving up from the cursor block, and you hit
del instead of enter.
i think it would make sense if the hotlist obeyed the "confirm delete" option
as well.
alternatively, don't make del the delete action (and use f8 instead), but i
think this sucks more.
as a followup jindrich novy posted a completely overengineered patch with a
"don't ask again" checkbox.
my reply was:
i don't think it makes too much sense. and, as far as i see, it is not
persistant. mc does not have a track record of "don't ask again" checkboxes
anyway, afair.
you can make it consistent with non-empty directory deletion by making it
possible to select multiple entries and have an "all" button in the
confirmation dialog. but that seems to be major overkill to me.
so if you really feel that the confirmation is so annoying (ermm, how often do
you delete bookmarks?), add a separate option to the confirmations dialog
(name it generically, like "confirm low-value delete" or something, to avoid
adding more options of this type).
