running mc in a mrxvt (aka materm)

Hi folks,


I'm trying to run mc 4.6.1-pre1 in a mrxvt 0.3.0 (multi tabbed rxvt thing),
but mc aborts with the following in output:

subshell.c: couldn't get terminal settings: Inappropriate ioctl for device


Any clue about the issue or how to get rid of this?
