Hello all,
after testing Jindrich Novy's patch for the 'broken extraction/viewing
fix from tarfs' I tryed viewing some files under /sys (Fedora Core 3). When
I open /sys/block/loop0/dev (for example) for editing it shows 4 bytes
(7:0\0x0A), but opening it for viewing it shows 4096 bytes. All extra bytes
are filled with 0xFF. I was not able to find file with more than 4096 bytes
to see what happends then. As far as I remember there was similar problem
with files under /proc, but it seems fixed. I used Fedora's mc-4.6.1-0.10
with and without the mentioned patch. Is this fixed in CVS?
I wrote a patch that fixes this issue.

Pavel Shirshov blocked it until 4.6.2.
