If you didn't know how to collaborate with the GUADEC here you have a good opportunity. What's more, this is an opportunity to collaborate with any GNOME-related event, from the most global to the very local. The goal is to deliver a portfolio for possible sponsors, thought for the GUADEC but recyclable by any kind of events. I haven't got the expertise to do it all, but if volunteers appear I can assume some tasks and the coordination. Last week I asked the GUADEC vets and the board if we had something like a portfolio to send/show to possible sponsors. I haven't got any answer and it wouldn't surprise me that until now we have got the GUADEC sponsors thanks to personal contacts, sponsors' good will and the GNOME halo. These are three great ingredients to get sponsors, but some objective facts put together in a nice portfolio may help increasing the amount of current sponsorship and will incentivate first contributions of new sponsors currently not in the inner circle. Anybody familiar with advertising, marketing, sales and similar concupiscent activities? The proposal is to develop an open document with the structure needed to seduce a sponsor and the texts and graphics appropriate for GUADEC sponsors. But... thinking of a modular portfolio that could be recycled with only the needed customisation changes to other GNOME events looking for sponsors. Get my point?
