Good news! Thanks for your help, Roel.
Now we need another iteration from Damien with the SUN Forte ...

It works ok on VS .Net 2003, output:

is_base_and_derived test ...
sizeof(char): 1
sizeof(is_base_and_derived<A,B>::big): 64
is_base_and_derived2<A,A>: 1
is_base_and_derived2<A,B>: 1
is_base_and_derived2<A,C>: 0
is_base_and_derived2<A,D>: 1
A_test2<A>: 1
A_test2<B>: 1
A_test2<C>: 0
A_test2<D>: 1
is_base_and_derived3<A,A>: 1
is_base_and_derived3<A,B>: 1
is_base_and_derived3<A,C>: 0
is_base_and_derived3<A,D>: 1
A_test3<A>: 1
A_test3<B>: 1
A_test3<C>: 0
A_test3<D>: 1

That one is good. Output of resulting executable attached.

Perfect. I will change the is_base_and_derived template in cvs
accordingly this evening. We have to make sure that this doesn't break the MS .NET compiler. Can someone with access to MS .NET check whether the file attached to my last mail compiles and post the output of the
executable, please?

Regards,

  Martin
