By the way, are you sure that this is not exaclty what you are trying? Looking again at your build log, the g++ option

 -L/var/samba_public/gcc/gcc-3.4.2-build/i686-pc-linux-gnu/libstdc++

looks very suspicious to me ...

separate them.

Anayway, should upgrade the requirements, or make a note about this
on
the web site or in some BUILD file...
