Well, what about the following: up to now, nobody has even started to agree
with your position, and on the other side, there have been several
people working on different bindings expressing their concerns on such a
strong position, and simply asking for some flexibility.

You cannot demand that existing bindings that have their existing community
and their existing packaging suddenyl change the way their binding is
packaged, and expect the users not to rightfully complain about parts
that are now "missing" because they have to be downloaded and installed
separately.

You can of course continue to argue that you are right and everybody else
is wrong, but either you need to find other people to back up your
position, or nobody will follow you and what you are trying to achieve
will fail.

Remember that best is the ennemy of good.
