Re: [guadec-list] Re: Printed program sprint

Hi again

I just finished the wiki chart about the materials.

http://live.gnome.org/GUADEC2006/PrintedContent

all of us (Shaun, Behnam & me) have the content in our mail boxes. Do I really need to upload them in a wiki page?

Hi all

I'm responsible for gathering the material
Shaun for editing
& Behnam for graphic design.

Gathering the material is almost done & complete. What is remaining is different texts that different people need to provide & I have pinged them so many times.

Let me make a chart & report on the availability of the materials in an hour & then I will put all of them in a wiki page tonight (before 12:00 am when we enter June 1st! ;-) )

I'm sorry for answering late & I have the same old excuse: I've been badly busy...:|

Ping? 3 people dedicated to the program and no answer in 24h about to
due the deadline is worrisome.

One of you should have the role of coordinator, not being able to
hide.  :)

I talked today with the print.

- They want separate PDF files for each page, print quality of course.

- Each page must have the A5 size + 3mm on each side.

- The amount of color pages have a big impact in the final price, not
just how many color pages we have but also how well they are grouped. At
this stage we need to have a grid of all the planned pages, stating
which ones are in color (as requested weeks ago). Only the cover, the
back page and the pages with ads need to be in color, the rest can be
just in B&W. There are two ways of grouping color pages: same sheet (the
A5 is in fact an A4 folded, the 4 pages printed in the same A4 sheet)
and correlative pages (12, 13, 14...).

- Of course the final amount of pages have also an impact in the budget.
Now that the schedule is mostly defined we can know how many pages will
have our program. Just a tip, if it matters. In print works like this
one you don't wait the texts to know how many pages you get: you plan an
amount of pages and you stick to it adapting the texts unless you ned to
increase 4 pages, and 4 more...

- Deadline. All the material needs to be proofread and uploaded
somewhere by June 7th. THIS IS A REAL DEADLINE. From today until that
day we need to have at least a daily report with advances, specially
finished pages available to check.
