Can you please provide URLs of lovely tag clouds?
I haven't seen very many that have been designed to be printed, to be
honest, so it's true that most of them are square, to fit the browser
window :)
This one isn't /too/ bad, although if anything they've touched it up
a bit too much, I think:

But really, I don't think there's too much wrong with the shape of
