Position a widget in any place on the window

Hi,

Call anyone give me some clue how to set one widget to a place in a window?

I want to create a window that will contain some buttons and some places 
to draw pictures but when I put a button in the window it occupies all 
the window. How can  I create a button in a certain size and put them in 
my window.
