gettext

Sorry, this is not by gtkmm, but maybe somebody help.
I use gettext for i18n.

1. how i can change language of program while
program is running?
2. Program language != local lang.
and local lang == progr. lang only when i do:
bind_textdomain_codeset("default", "ru_RU");
Why?
