TextView: text in margin?

Hi,

I am looking for a way to write text in the margin of a TextView
widget, something along the lines of

                a line of text
                another line of text
  margin note   third line of text
                more text
                even more text
  another note  text text text
                all there is is text

I tried to play with the indent property but couldn't make it work
like in the example above. 

Does anyone have some sample code to do what I want?
