Yes, the 2.4 refers to the API name. gtkmm 2.6 has version 2.6 of the
gtkmm-2.4 API. As opposed to the gtkmm-2.0 API.

We haven't tried to keep old versions of the documentation online. Maybe
we should. It is sometimes confusing.

To avoid confusion, you might use the documentation and examples
provided by your distro, which will match your installed library.
