The break-and-parallel-install happened only with 2.2 and 2.4. Only the
2.0 and 2.4 APIs exists. The latest version of gtkmm-2.0 is 2.2. The
latest version of gtkmm-2.4 is 2.6.
Don't worry about distros that don't ship gtkmm-2.4. They should not be
taken seriously.
