[gtkmm] Linux User Authentication

Hello all,

I don't know if  here is the right place to ask for this, but I'm
doing gtkmm application and want to know if there are some docs and
tutorials about linux user authentication i.e. how to see if the user
who started my application is root and if he isn't, how to ask him for
password and so on.
