+I get no crash here, though I am using GTK+ 2.3. What version of GTK+
+2.2 do you have? Maybe it was fixed in a later GTK+ 2.2.x as well.

+I managed to compile glib, atk, pango, gdk and gtk from CVS. A few

+noting that it is a gtkmm method, not a GTK+ method. It's implemented
+with C functions but it can also be implemented with the STL-style
