Well, it seems I'm talking to myself in a public forum. :)

I fiddled around for a while and think that I have something
that I'd like to submit to replace the sample code
in The gtkmm Book, chapter 14, Drawing Lines section:

Please have a look at it and let me know:

A. if it is suitable for inclusion in The Book,
