[gtkmm] Please help

Hello people,

Sorry, I'm new in Linux and need some help; I just have install Libsigc++
and then, when trying to install gtkmm I have next:

checking for libsigc++ - version >= 0.8.5... 1.0.2
checking if libsigc++ sane... no
configure: error: Libsigc++ is required to compile Gtk--. If libsigc++ was
installed
but no found to be sane,  most likely you have not placed the 
/usr/local/lib path in the library config file and run ldconfig.
[root robertobolanos gtkmm-1.2.10]# 

Does some body can tell me where can I find the library config file?
