[gtkmm] OT: Debugging problem

Could someone gimme a hint - how to debug my gtkmm apps compiled with
gcc-3.1?
Since, I've rebuilt all libs and code with gcc-3.1 neither old GDB nor
DDD-3.3.1 (compiled with same gcc-3.1) won't load symbols from
libraries/executables.

Error:

Dwarf Error: Cannot handle DW_FORM_strp in DWARF reader.

Any suggestions welcome.
