Primary responsibilities include designing and developing new versions of
the RealPlayer for Linux. A minimum of five years of professional Linux
development is required.
Skillset must include a mastery of C++; knowledge of gcc 3.x and 4.x;
experience with gtk/gnome 2.x; expertise using gdb and cvs; and experience
with assorted unices.
Experience with python, the Mozilla SDK, COM, browser plugins, and the
Helix community is preferred.
The successful candidate must be creative, have strong problem solving
ability, good verbal and written communications skills, experience with
consumer software applications and be looking for a challenging but
rewarding role in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Technical degree,
Math, EE or CS required.
- Demonstrated ability to write and debug C/C++ code.
- Understanding of GTK and constructing a GTK-based application.
- Expertise in implementing products for various Unix platforms in a
collaborative environment.
- Understanding of COM, including C++ implementation leveraging COM.
- Experience in cross-platform development.
- Bachelors in Computer Science, or related field required.
- 5 years in a software development role, using C++ in a Linux environment
- Prior experience working on large consumer software applications,
experience with COM, and familiarity with large-scale collaborative
development is preferred.
