gdk-Error : gdkgc-win32.c assertion failed (win32_gc->hdc ==NULL)

i am new to gtk 2.8.6


OS; windows - 2000,
ActivePerl 5.8.6

in my perl - program  i am transffering files (IO::FTP)  using threads ,, with progress bar updations,,

some times i got error like 

gdk-Error : gdkgc-win32.c : line 838 <gdk_win32_hdc_get): assertion failed (win32_gc->hdc ==NULL) ;;

if i put comment in progress bar set_fraction method ,, it is working fine,,

help me please,,
