More likely, he's trying to deal with *one* entry which has text that has several different states attached. For instance, an input widget for a filename or URL, where the already-entered text is shown in one color, but proposed auto-completion has a different color... I know the Firefox address bar widget does that, but I pheer trying to find it in the Firefox source tree to steal their code.... Anybody got a lighter-weight example to steal from? :)
