re: rotate widget / textbox

hi, folks
i m looking for direction to rotate some text or gtk widget 90 
degrees.......which is vertical
and the text box and the text inside both go vertical as well

i was trying to read API doc about GTK container and textview and 
some.......but no avail
just read docs and know guys are making it an image and then rotate the 
image
but i want the widget rotated rather becoz i want to make it 
input-able.....not just display-able

any directions or guides?
