GTK+ Compileing with C

/usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/3.4.2/../../../libpangoft2-1.0.so:
undefined reference to `g_return_if_fail_warning'


I try to compile the first script on the tutorial on the GTK page, i
get this error. i have pango, libpangoft, and all the like and i can't
figure out what is wrong. please help me.
