Where to gain OOP knowledge for GObject(c interface)?

Hello everyone! I'm a newbie to gtk. i've basic knowledge in C and Java. And
was wondering where can i learn about oop knowledge for gobject(C
interface)? I looked at Mathieu Lacage's website. I don't understand a
thing. is there any book or website that teaches oop(for C) from grounds up?
and also do i need to have c++ knowledge for gobject? Thanks.
