I'm sorry to interrupt this discussion here a bit, but solving my
original problem would be nice ;-)

| Another thing I tried, was to let the box always be visible and just
| try to add and remove my slider. But the program freezes again.

| The same problem exists with checkboxes and normal boxes. I've also
| tried some versions without signal connects, but this doesn't change
| anything.
