Changing the shortcut text for menus

Hi,

I have to change the text of the default shortcut
generated by GTK when I add an accelerator to the menu
item. Is there any way to do it?

Like if I add '+' as the accelerator, a '+' is shown
as the shortcut but I want to it be to "plus". How can
I achieve that?
