Oddness.  I see the "-lXext" there... it *should* work.

Can you look to see if your system has a sane libXext.so and/or libXext.a on
it?  It's possible you have a corrupted/missing copy of those, or a permissions
problem or something.

Also, just double-check /etc/ld.so.conf to make sure it's looking in reasonable
places and not finding a broken libXext.* somehow...
