looking for help

I'm using gtk+2.0 to do a project. I turn to you some questions.
I use gtk_clist_set_selection_mode(clist,GTK_SELECTION_BROWSE); the
clist can browse the rows one by one and prelight the selected row.
But what I want is to select item one by one and prelight it. So I use
gtk_clist_select_row(); it hasn't any effort.
I think these two functions must be conflict. But I have no ways to
solve it. Can you help me?
