Installing GTK+ 2.4.0 on Fedora Core 1

Hi all.
I'm wondering what I have to do if I want to install gtk+-2.4.0 on
Fedora Core 1 without losing the original set of icons.
For example, if I reinstall GTK+ completely, I lose icons for various
programs, including glade2.
What I have to do?
