problem script install

Hi,

sorry, maybe this is OT.
I'm modifying Makefile.am generated with Glade. It must make dir /home/user/.dir_prog
and copy a file there.
'make install' is launched by root and so if I use:

$(INSTALL_DATA) $(srcdir)/other_files/file.dat $(HOME)/.dir_prog

it makes /root/.dir_prog and not /home/user/.dir_prog

How can I resolve this problem?
