Is there a way to programatically determine if a cell in a tree view

I can't find anything in the tree view or tree store documentation
that would allow me to do this, and I can't seem to search the mailing
list archives to see if there is a way to do this.
Too. Today I've posted to bugzilla:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145566
..cus if I change the tree model while a cell is beign edited it remains
on the screen still accessible - it's a bug
