Hi

Putting a GtkLabel inside a GtkDrawingArea doesn't make sense to me...

If you want to draw text look at pango:

Pango docs -> Basic Pango Interfaces -> Layout Objects -> PangoLayout.

GDK docs -> Drawing Primitives -> gdk_draw_layout
